We will meet in paradise

"Last autumn I took this series of photos of my friends and sisters for my first solo exhibition “We will meet in paradise”. I wanted to capture the feeling of sisterhood and belonging as it felt and still feels like to me. Growing up as a Somali, muslim immigrant in Sweden it’s hard to ever feel like I belong but I found that place with my sisters, the people that share this feeling of alienation with me. As a muslim I also believe in the existence of a paradise where there’s no suffering and only love, may we reunite there."
