Ashughs, a story shot by Amanda Gylling.
An ashugh is an Armenian nomad troubadour, a musician and poet that travels the South Caucasus.
The most notable of them was Sayat-Nova that inspired the Georgian non-conformist filmmaker Sergei Paradjanov to create one of the avant- garde greatest masterpieces of the 20th century « Color of the Pomegranate ».
Arrested in Kiev in the 70s on charge of homosexual relations, Paradjanov was also accused by the Russians to be an Ukrainian nationalist and banned from making movies for 15 years.
